Vaginal Aesthetic surgery / Vaginoplasty

Vaginoplasty (layman term: aesthetic vaginal surgery) aims at removing excess vaginal mucosa to narrow the cylindrical canal of the vagina for making the vaginal introitus (outward opening of vagina) narrow and longer.
This is a minor surgical procedure done as a day care surgery under some sedation and the patient is discharged in a day or two.

Surgery takes around half an hour to complete depending on operating gynecologist.

Main indications for this surgery are for Enhancement of sexual pleasure and for Cosmesis.

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasy aims at removing excess (hypertrophied) or hanging floppy labia minora.

It is also used for correcting asymmetric or uneven labia minora which causes chronic inflammation and discomfort during sexual intercourse.

Labiaplasty is also a minor surgery taking around 1-2 hours and can be done in a post-partum operating room under local anesthesia or sedation.

Also useful for widening the vaginal introitus in case of painful coitus.

The surgery consists of decreasing the long labia minora to make them even and healthy. If both labia minora and majora are hypertrophied or overgrown, both of them will have to be reduced.

No special preparations or precautions are required prior to surgery days. Only a light anxiolytics and enema on previous night is what all required to decrease your apprehension for surgery.

The results of labiaplasty are appreciable. Your labia will look more harmonious and cosmetically better; and make your coitus more comfortable and long lasting. Women who feels unconfotable wearing swimsuits previously due to over hanging labia minora , can then feel comfortable in wearing them.



Hymenoplasty - Surgical reconstruction of Hymen

Hymenoplasty is the surgical reconstruction of Hymen (= a mucosal diaphragm at the entrance of vaginal canal)

Hymen is torned / ruptured during first sexual intercourse and so it is performed to make a women appear virgin. i.e. Revirgination

Results are best in those who have not delivered a child through vaginal route.

Remnants of the hymen are brought together into close approximation and then sutured to close the hymen.

After healing the results are good and with no post operative complications, but slight painful intercourse occurs in some apprehensive women.

This is also a day care surgical procedure taking not more than 30 minutes for completion.
